Advanced Nurse Practitioner - Female

After qualifying as a Registered General nurse I initially worked on a Trauma and Orthopaedic ward and gained experience in ITU, nursing severe trauma patients.

I have worked in general practice for the past 29 years, initially as a practice nurse and then following further training as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner and have worked in this role as part of the team in Stourport for 15 years.

I work within a team of 3 other nurse practitioners at the surgery, each of us having our own interests and specialities.

My interests include Respiratory care and management, anti-coagulation, contraception, sexual health and women’s health. I currently have a dedicated clinic to fit and remove contraceptive implants and manage complex gynaecological conditions.

During my career I have always been passionate about teaching and sharing knowledge and ideas and am currently taking on a role mentoring practice nurses.

Away from work my time is filled spending time with friends and my family (my daughter Hannah is one of the practice nurses at SMC), in particular my lovely grandchildren who are my world.
