Dr Roy Williams – GP

Career to date – Following training in South Wales, I moved to the West Midlands for a training programme in General and Breast surgery, working in various hospitals in the region, before commencing my career in General Practice in 2008.
Clinical interests/specialisms – I have training in Orthopaedics and Rheumatology have an interest in bone and joint problems and perform joint injections in the surgery. I am currently the Clinical Director for the Wyre Forest Health Partnership (our network of practices) and am also digital lead. I have role working for the Integrated Care System (ICS) as one of the Primary Care Network leads for Worcestershire and as Primary Care Digital lead.

Dr Sarah Malcomson – GP
Med School/University – University of Sheffield.
Qualifications and date achieved – MbChB 2005, MRCGP 2010, DRCOG, DFSRH, PG Diploma Dermatology.
Career to date – Junior doctor training at Sheffield teaching hospitals 2005 – 2007, GP training in North Worcestershire VTS 2007 – 2010.

Dr Nicola Cox – GP

Career to date – North Worcestershire GP VTS. GP in New Zealand 2002, Great Witley Surgery 2003-2020.

Dr Jayne Hird – GP

Career to date – Junior Doctor in Surgery, Medicine, Orthopaedics, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, General and Community Paediatrics. Previously Salaried Doctor and then Partner at Kidderminster Health Centre. Partner at Kidderminster Medical Centre. Currently also working as GP in A&E and Out of Hours GP.

Dr Andrew Cox – GP

Dr Jennifer James – GP

Career to date – I completed my basic surgical training in Buckinghamshire in 2007 before moving to New Zealand where I worked in general and paediatric surgery before returning to England in 2012.I have since completed my GP training in North Worcestershire VTS and having spent sometime of that time at York house medical centre I returned here in 2020.

Dr Isabel Alford – GP

Career to date – After graduating from Birmingham University I completed my GP Training in Worcester. I then worked in Worcestershire in GP practices, A&E and the Out of Hours service before coming to work at Stourport Medical Centre in 2014.

Dr Chris Wenham – GP

Career to date – Medical House Job at Heartlands Hospital, Birmingham, Surgical House Job Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham, Ophthalmology SHO at Shrewsbury and Telford Hospitals and Wolverhampton Eye Infirmary, GP training on the Black Country South GP VTS.

Dr Sebastian Morton – GP
Med School/University – I attended Warwick University Medical School.
Qualifications and date achieved – 2004 BSc Hons microbiology and virology, 2008 MBChB medical training, 2013 Completed GP training.
Career to date – I graduated in 2008. I completed GP training in Stourport in 2013 and have worked here as a GP since then. As well as working at the surgery I work on the Wyre Forest Ward in Kidderminster. I am also one of the GPs involved in leadership and management in the practice.
Clinical interests/specialisms – My clinical interests are the treatment of drug and alcohol addiction.

Dr Marie Gibson – GP
Med School/University – University of Birmingham qualified 2000.
Qualifications and date achieved – MBChB 2000, DRCOG 2002, DCH 2002, DFFP 2004, MRCGP 2005.
Career to date – GP training in Worcestershire, including registrar at Stourport health centre.1-1/2 years working as volunteer doctor in India doing anything & everything from delivering babies to looking after TB patients, minor surgery, home visits.
Returned to Stourport in 2007 and became a Partner.
Now Lead GP for our neighbourhood team which incorporates frailty work covering home visiting & care homes.
I am also the WFHP lead for Learning disability’s, which has allowed me to help further develop the way we as an organisation can provide better care for our patients with a learning disability. This is an area I feel strongly about and am proud to be part of an organisation that places the same value on providing really holistic care for our patient’s with a learning disability.
Clinical interests/specialisms – Over the years I have also developed special interests in Mental health, Women’s health, and Paediatrics (children’s health).

Dr Lizzie Follows – GP
Med School/University – Nottingham University.
Qualifications and date achieved – BMBS, BmedSci, MRCGP, DRCOG, DFSRH.
Career to date – I graduated in 2003, did my house jobs in Derby and then worked in New Zealand for 6 months before returning to UK to gain further experience in A and E, acute medicine and sexual health. I then joined the GP training scheme in the Wyre forest and following qualification in 2009 worked as a locum across the county and as a salaried GP in Redditch before joining Stourport in 2012.
Clinical interests/specialisms – Woman’s health has always been an interest and I have been a coil and implant fitter for many years. I have been the lead for woman’s health for the WFHP for a number of years and have recently also become a GP trainer.

Dr Miranda Wynne-Edwards – GP

Career to date – I did my GP training in Buckinghamshire and then when qualified I worked as a GP in Oxford. I moved to Worcester in 2013 and started work at York House in 2014.

Connor Cashmore – Physicians Associate

Qualifications and date achieved – BSc Biological and Social Anthropology. MSc Physician Associate.
Career to date – I started my career as a HCA, working for 3 years in rehabilitation, palliative and end of life care. I completed my Physician Associate MSc in 2022, during which I experienced work in Sexual Health, Acute Medicine, Cardiology, Gastroenterology, Emergency Medicine, Intensive Care, General Surgery, Paediatrics, Psychiatry, Obstetrics and Gynaecology and Respiratory Medicine, as well as GP here at Stourport. I enjoy working at SMC and look forward to further developing my career here.
Clinical Interests/Specialisms – My clinical interests and specialisms include: Sexual health, general and emergency medicine. I also have an interest in minor surgery and EOL/Palliative medicine.

Angela Bellamy – Advanced Nurse Practitioner
Med School/University – Nurse practitioner qualification was Wolverhampton University, BSc at Worcester University, Non-medical prescribing at Birmingham City University.
Qualifications and date achieved – BSc(Hons). Dip HE. Non-medical prescriber. Further and Adult education teacher’s certificate.
Career to date – Worked in general practice since 1991. Initially as a practice nurse then after further training as a nurse practitioner.
Clinical interests/specialisms – Specialist areas include women’s health – gynaecology, contraception, HRT and sexual health. Fitting and removing of contraceptive implants. Respiratory management – asthma, COPD.

Sara Bannister – Advanced Nurse Practitioner
Med School/University attended – Worcester University for BSC Adult Nursing and Advanced clinical practice masters modules and Wolverhampton university for specialist Community Practitioner in health visiting.
Qualifications and date achieved – 2004 – Bcs adult nursing 2010 – Health Visiting Specialist Community Practitioner 2019 – Independent Prescribing.
Career to date – Started my nursing career in accident and emergency in Redditch then moved on to community nursing around Wyre forest area. Changed to working in the fields of discharge coordination and continuing health care management before moving on to work as a health visitor in the Dudley area and Stourport. This lead to being part of the start up team for family nurse partnership service in Worcestershire, working with vulnerable young families across Worcestershire before commencing work in Stourport as an advanced nurse practitioner.
Clinical interests/specialisms – I continue to have an interest in children particularly under 5’s and undertake the 8 week developmental reviews for the surgery. I also cover the home visiting service for Stourport part time, whilst the remainder of my time completing more generalised advanced nurse practitioner work.

Andrea Carroll – Advanced Nurse Practitioner

Qualifications and date achieved – Registered General Nurse (Bsc) 2004; District Nurse Specialist Community Practitioner (BsC Hons) 2008; Independent Prescriber 2011; Advanced Clinical Practitioner (MsC) 2012.
Career to date – I worked for Worcestershire Health & Care Trust as a Community Staff Nurse in Bewdley and Stourport. Once I gained my Specialist Practitioner qualification I was District Nurse Team Leader at Hagley. I then worked with the Admission Prevention Team as a Community Matron covering Stourport, Hagley and Wolverley. I have been working for WFHP as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner , visiting patients in their own homes and care/nursing homes for last 5 years.

Rachel Turner – Physician Associate

Career to date – After training in Leeds I began my career working for Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust, rotating around different medical specialties. I moved into primary care in 2021, initially in a primary care network in Huddersfield before relocating back to the midlands and starting at Stourport Medical Centre in April 2022

Clinical interests/specialisms – Specialised in Palliative care following qualification in 2003 and worked in Hospice care and Acute hospital and community settings, I have worked as an Advanced Nurse practitioner since 2018 in secondary care and moved to primary care 2022.
